Land plots in Chin State's Haka township available for sale

A total of 2000 applicants have submitted their interest to buy 820 plots of land at a new city project being developed in Haka township in the Haka district of Chin State, a spokesperson from the Chin State Government said.

The project, which is being developed on 676 acres of land,  commenced in 2017. Invitations to apply for the lease of the land plots were sent out six months ago. The permitted applicants can buy a 100x100 feet plot of land with K5 million, a 80x80 plot of land with K3.5 million, a 60x80 plot of land with K2.5 million and a 40x60 plot of land with K1 million.

Chin State is among the poorest and lease accessible regions in Myanmar. Haka, the capital of Chin State, is composed of eight big wards and its total population is 24,168 with 5,402 houses.  It is located more than 1,867 metres above sea level.

There is only one main road running along the middle of the city, in a curved U, and the whole city is built along this road.  This is connected to Falam township, where the first airport in Chin State is set to open with an 800-meter runway in June, according to the state government.

Another airport, Lailenpi, is also under construction at Matupi township in southern Chin. It is backed by $2.2 million in foreign aid from Mission Aviation Fellowship International based in the UK. Haka and Matupi are also connected by truck road.
