Thua Thien-Hue seeks to lure Singapore investors

HCMC – Leaders of Thua Thien-Hue Province met with Singapore business executives Monday to present investment opportunities in the central province, the Vietnam News Agency reports.

The meeting was attended by 26 Singapore firms in construction, industry, shipping, fishery, education and tourism sectors, International Enterprise Singapore (IE-Singapore) in Vietnam and local enterprises.

Nguyen Van Cao, chairman of Thua Thien-Hue, said the province has constantly found ways to improve the investment environment and make business conditions favorable for investors.

The province is now home to many efficient investment projects of big foreign and local firms such as Banyan Tree Group of Singapore, Carlsberg, HBI JS Company, Royal Caribbean Group, C.P. Vietnam Corporation, Banpu, Bangchak Group, Vingroup, Bitexco and Nguyen Kim.

At the meeting, Singaporean enterprises expressed interest in tourism, shipping and industry at Chan May-Lang Co economic zone and other industrial parks.

Nguyen Van Cam, director of planning and business development at C.P. Vietnam Corporation, said the company was pleased with the investment environment of Thua Thien-Hue. This firm intends to cooperate with Singapore partners to export its products to Singapore.
