Luxury resort picks up five awards at World Travel Awards Asia Australasia.

The InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort was once again honored as “Asia’s Leading Luxury Resort” at the World Travel Awards Asia Australasia ceremony in Hong Kong on September 3.

The resort also took home four other accolades: “Asia’s Leading Green Resort 2018”, “Asia’s Leading Luxury Wedding Resort 2018”, “Asia’s Leading Luxury Hotel Villa 2018: Bai Bac Bay Villas”, and “Vietnam’s Leading Luxury Resort 2018”.

The multi-award-winning InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort is a luxury five-star beach resort nestled in the heart of the Son Tra Peninsula Nature Reserve in central Da Nang city. Famed architect Bill Bensley reimagined Vietnamese design, history and mythology with his characteristic whimsy, creating a magical retreat over four levels - Heaven, Sky, Earth and Sea - linked by a funicular climbing its way through forested slopes.

The resort is located just 30 minutes from Da Nang International Airport and 45 minutes from the world heritage site of Hoi An ancient town.

It features 201 luxurious rooms, suites, penthouses, and villas. Dramatic views make the most of the setting while interiors drape guests in Vietnamese-inspired décor. The bold black and white color palette forms a classic backdrop against which carefully placed splashes of color emerge. Every accommodation is equipped with lavish bathroom amenities, including a separate bathtub, rain shower, and couple’s vanity sinks.

The World Travel Awards was established in 1993 to acknowledge, reward, and celebrate excellence across all key sectors of the travel, tourism and hospitality industries. Today, the awards are recognized globally as the ultimate hallmark of industry excellence.

The World Travel Awards Grand Tour in 2018 features regional ceremonies in the Middle East (Ras Al Khaimah, UAE), Europe (Athens, Greece), Asia & Australasia (Hong Kong), Latin America (Guayaquil, Ecuador), Africa & the Indian Ocean (Durban, South Africa), and North America & the Caribbean (Jamaica). Regional winners then compete head to head in the corresponding world categories. The winners will be announced on the night of the World Travel Awards Grand Final in Lisbon, Portugal, in November.
