 Resort picks up award for fourth year running at World Travel Awards.

The InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort has once again been honored at the World Travel Awards (WTA) as the “World’s Leading Luxury Resort”, at a ceremony held on Phu Quoc Island. The resort sets a new record in winning the prestigious award for the fourth year in a row.

“We are beyond thrilled to receive these prestigious awards and to be named ‘World’s Leading Luxury Resort’ for the fourth consecutive year,” said Ms. Juan Losada, the resort’s General Manager. “This is huge recognition of our team and together with our owners at the Sun Group and as part of the InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), we remain dedicated to delivering the highest levels of service excellence and creating unforgettable memories for guests who choose our resort.”

The annual awards have been heralded as the travel industry’s equivalent to the Oscar’s by The Wall Street Journal. Into its 24th year, the WTA was launched to celebrate organizations that push the boundaries of industry excellence and are acknowledged across the globe as the ultimate travel and tourism accolade. Guests attending the gala ceremony included many of the industry’s elite: CEOs and Senior Vice Presidents of leading travel companies, together with government ministers and tourism board chiefs.

At the joint holding of the WTA and the 3rd Annual World Spa Awards, the resort also won three other accolades for its signature restaurant helmed by world-acclaimed chef, Pierre Gagnaire, and its award-winning spa:

• World’s Leading Fine Dining Hotel Restaurant 2017: La Maison 1888 at InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort.
• Asia’s Best Resort Spa 2017: HARNN Heritage Spa at InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort, in the World Spa Awards.
• Vietnam’s Best Resort Spa 2017: HARNN Heritage Spa at InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort, in the World Spa Awards.

With the goal of delivering on its promise of “Where Myth Meets Luxury”, the resort has held numerous high-profile international and domestic events and continues to redefine the luxury resort experience worldwide.

Most recently, it was chosen to host the flagship event, the APEC Economic Leaders Meeting 2017, and welcomed 21 heads of government, including the US President, the Russian President, and the Canadian Prime Minister, among others.
